Obie Trice - I Need You (Video)

Here's video of a studio session for a song Obie recently recorded entitled, "I Need You". The song is good but the video is nothing really special. Anyways Bottoms Up is apparently coming soon so look out for that. Obie has always been one of my favorite rappers. Both of his albums were really good and his lyric game is on point.

Music Video Weekly # 47

This week's music video is from Ludacris' 2003 CD Chicken-n-Beer. I remember everyone liking this song when it came out. The video was crazy too! Luda always has amazing videos. Lately his videos have kind of been lackluster though if you ask me. Let's hope he gets back to the crazy ass videos again. Oh yeah, Kanye produced this joint and has a cameo in it!

Jay-Z - Death of Autotune (Music Video)

Here is a TVRip of that new Jay-Z video. Hopefully a better version will be up soon but this should hold y'all over. It's a really dope video, loving the acting seen with Harvey Keitel. Also Lebron James makes a cameo.

Jay-Z - Death of Autotune + Ne-Yo MJ Tribute (Live @ Bet Awards)

Jay killed it tonight at the BET awards. Best performance hands down. Blueprint 3 is gonna be crazy. As soon as his music video is posted on the net it will be posted up.

edit: Also I gotta post up Ne-yo's Tribute to Michael Jackson. It was definitely the best tribute of the night.

Kanye West - Streetlights

Here's Kanye's new video for Streetlights off 808's and Heartbreak. It's probably my second favorite song off the album (Robocop is my first). Definitely worth a watch. Lets hope they put out an official vid for Robocop next.

R.I.P. to Michael Jackson

F what you heard, Michael was totally hip hop! A true legend died yesterday. I was totally shocked when I heard the news. Growing up I was never a huge fan but one of my best friends was (I see you Nick). My favorite song by him was probably Smooth Criminal.

Single of the Week # 42

This week I have a new single from Chamillionaire. I've never been a huge fan of him but every once in a while I hear a song that I like. It features the one and only Z-Ro. They both kill it. It's going to be on Chamillionaire's next mixtape, Mixtape Messiah Vol. 8. Supposedly this will be his last project ever. He said recently that he scrapped his whole entire album and is thinking about calling it quits. I highly doubt this. He's only had 2 proper retail releases and has so much more potential than that. Anyways we'll see how it turns out. In the mean time check out this dope song.

Nas and Damian Marley - Distant Relatives Preview

As you may or my not know, Nas and Damian Marley are working on an album called Distant Relatives. It's supposed to be a whole album about Africa. I seemed kind of doubtful at first because I'm not really a huge reggae fan, but this preview breathed a breath of fresh hope into me. This album could be epic.

50 Cent - I'll Do Anything

Here is the new video for one of the songs off of War Angel. It's probably my least favorite because its a "bitch" song, but its still a lot better than "Amusement Park" and "Candy Shop." Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks are also in the video. It's great to see them in the video with 50. Atleast they still seem to be friends with 50. Anyways hopefully the next video is to "Better Come On Your A Game."

Music Video Weekly # 46

Todays Music Video is from the first Bravehearts album. It features Nas and Lil Jon. This song was pretty big back and the day and I remember it getting constant play on MTV and BET. It's a shame the Bravehearts didn't have a strong followup single. I think one of the reasons this song was so successful is because Lil Jon was in it. He was was becoming huge at this time.

Dope Mixtape: Young Chris - The Newprint

Here is Volume 2 of Dope Mixtapes. Thousands of mixtapes come out every year. Everyones bound to miss one dope one or another. I heavily slept on this Young Chris mixtape. It's called The Newprint and its a tribute to Jay-Z. Young Chris raps over all of Jay's dopest beats. It's a must have for a Jay-Z and Roc-a-Fella fan. Young Chris is definitely one of those heavily slept on artists. He really has the potential to become big with the right promotion. Definitely check this shit out!

50 Cent - War Angel LP [+ Bonus Tracks]

So, 50's much hyped new street album (War Angel LP) finally dropped last night. 50 must have taken notes from Eminem's success with Relapse because he decided to turn to his former street thugged out self for this tape. I played it non stop about 4 times in a row. I think its really good and it definitely shows he's got that hunger in him again, as well as the motivation to make another great album. Before I Self Destruct hits stores September 8th and if this is any indication of how hot the record is going to sound, we're in for a treat. Here is the mixtape along with a couple of extra tracks that came out this year. In my opinion the extra tracks really fit the theme of the album well.

Music Video Weekly # 45

Today's music video is from a Rapper who has been M.I.A. ever since his first cd. I seriously have no clue what the hell he has been up to. There's virtually no info on what he's doing on the web. It's a shame cause his CD wasn't that bad at all. The song is Tear It Up, the artist is Yung Wun. The cd was Dirtiest and Thirstiest. Anyone know where the hell he went? This was one of my favorite songs back in 9th grade.

Yung Wun - Tear it Up (feat. DMX, Lil Flip, and David Banner)

Slaughterhouse - Strictly for the Ladies EPK

Here an update on Slaughterhouse. Their new album is coming out August 7th. It was pushed back a month so all 4 members of Slaughterhouse could release an EP. Every week of July we will have a new EP. Each EP is supposed to feature a Slaughterhouse song that will not appear on the upcoming album. I'll post all the dates below. In the meantime watch this EPK they put out poking fun of themselves.

Royce: The Revival - 7/7/09.
Joe: Escape Route - 7/14/09.
Crooked: Mr. Pig Face Weapon Waste - 7/21/09.
Joell: Pre Agent - 7/28/09.

Big Tigger, Eminem and Kon Artist In the Booth

Yesterday Rap City returned to have Eminem on to discuss his album. The show as called Rap City Relapse. To me Big Tigger is one of the best interviewers so I was really excited. This show used to be my favorite show when it was on. Anyways everyone who was present except 50 decided to freestyle in the booth. It was very dope to see Big Tigger rap with the legends again.

Big Tigger, Eminem, and Kon Artist int he booth on Rap City.

Jaimie Foxx & Drake - Digital Girl Remix (Live on Conan)

Last night during the interview Jamie said he had brought someone special to perform his song with him. This special someone was Drake. This is either his first or one of his first Performances on National TV and it was really dope. It's crazy to see all the hype this dude is getting and he's still unsigned!

Linkin Park - New Divide (Music Video)

Here is the new Linkin Park video for the Transformers 2 soundtrack. I really like this song and this shit sounds hella dope with the bass turned all the way up. Been a fan of Linkin Park for a minute now. Fort Minor is one of my favorite CD's of all time.

Single of the Week # 40

Wow hard to believe we've already had 40 singles of the week. Shits crazy. I love downloading singles every week and deciding what my favorite single is. Sometimes its really hard to decide what track is the best to put up. Sometimes its a no brainer. This week is one of those no brainer weeks. As soon as I heard that Who's Real remix with ALL of the Ruff Ryders I knew I would pick it. Nothing came out that is even close to the level of epicness of this track. It's amazing to hear all of them together again. I didn't think it would happen this soon after DMX got out of jail.

Lil Wayne - The Drought is Over Series (1 Link)

Lil Wayne is one of the biggest artists out at the moment. In my opinion he is a decent rapper. I don't think he deserves all the credit he gets and he certainly isn't the best rapper alive. But this post isn't about dissing Wayne. Tha Carter III was one of the very few albums to go platinum in its first week. I was a total Wayne hater then but as soon as N-EIGHT made me listen to the cd, I loved it. There were probably more than 20 mixtapes of Wayne out right before and after Tha Carter III. People were going crazy and fiending for Tha Carter III or any Wayne track they could get their hands on. Out of all those mixtapes, one mixtape series stood out the most. This was DJ Empire's The Drought is Over. This series spanned 6 volumes which contained mostly exclusive never before heard material. Wayne has claimed that almost all this material was released without his consent. It most definitely was one of the reasons Tha Carter III had been pushed back time after time. Anyways here is the entire series in 1 link. Download and listen to one of the most monumental mixtape series in the history of mixtapes. All Mixtapes (1-6) are fully tagged with Covers.

Music Video Weekly # 44

I've been listening to a lot of Kanye West as of late so I figured I'd drop a Kanye video. To me this is one of Kanye's best guest appearances. It was one of the first major guest appearances Kanye did after blowing up with College Dropout. The song is from Dilated Peoples album, Neighborhood Watch. The video is really dope and there is a ton of cameos.

Obie Trice - Krazy (feat. Tuki)

Here's a new video Obie just dropped for a song he put out a couple months ago called Krazy. His third album Bottoms Up is still supposedly coming out, but now on his new label Black Market Records. I really hope Em is still on it, but I doubt it.

Jay-Z - D.O.A. (Remix) [feat. AZ]

Holy shit y'all. AZ just hopped on the remix to Death of Autotune. And guess what? He killed it! "So you know who now is the greatest MC's alive, Jigga, AZ, and Nas!" This Jay song is huge, as soon as it dropped it became the number 1 trend on twitter.

MC Hammer - Family Affair (2 CD) [RARE SHIT]

This blog started as a place for me to get out my rare and obscure music. That's why it was once called obscureklazzix. Since then it has evolved into a site with three contributors posting new and old music they like. Shock is always dropping rare singles weekly and N-Eight is always dropping those exclusives. Anyways I'm about to bring this blog back to its roots by sharing another Rare cd. This is MC Hammer's 8th cd that was released in 1998. It goes by the name Family Affair because it was MC Hammer focusing on getting some of his artists into the mainstream. This album was also MC Hammer's first all Gospel Rap album. Two of the songs, "Big Man" and "Unconditional Luv" were written by Tupac during Hammer's short stint with DeathRow. The album didn't fare well at all and only sold around 500 copies. It wasn't released nationally and was only released on a few internet sites. I've been looking for this album for about 2 years now. Ever since I found out about the album on his Wiki, I've been looking for it to complete my MC Hammer discography. All my searches came upon were tracklists and ebay listings asking $599 for the cd. Last night after coming upon a new MC Hammer mixtape by Mick Boogie I decided to do another search for it. After a few searches I came upon a Russian message board with links to the cd. I had to get a tutorial to even figure out how to download the cd from this site. Anyways as soon as I started downloading it, I vowed to post it here. So without further adieu, I bring to you MC Hammer - Family Affair.

Mr. Smilez - Nite Life (feat. Lloyd) [Music Video]

The music video is finally out to Mr. Smilez (of Smilez and Southstar) song "Nite Life." The song features Lloyd and the music video turned out really good. There's some very nice production value in here and it looks leagues above these straight to internet videos out nowadays. I'm hoping this means we'll be seeing this video on MTVJams as well as 106 and Park. It's been a long ass time since I've seen either of the orlando duo on TV. Last time they were on TV, BET Uncut still was on air. Anyways it seems like they are both looking to solo careers right now. I'm hoping they come back in the future and drop that long awaited second album.

Kanye West - Spaceship (feat. GLC & Consequence)

GLC posted an unreleased music video from College Dropout on his blog. This video is just as amazing as all the rest of the videos from this cd. If you ask me its on par with "All Fall's Down" I remember hearing something about this video before and thought it was originally supposed to be on the College Dropout Video Compilation. It must have gotten cut for one reason or another. Anyways here it is in its entirety!

Music Video Weekly #43

This week's music video is from DJ Khaled's second cd, We The Best. Everyone came correct on this joint. Wayne surprised the hell out of me and T.I. was rapping faster than I had ever heard before. Great music video for a great summer song.

T.I. - A Year and Day [Mixtape Monthly - May 2009]

The Mixtape of May 2009 came out just 2 days ago. I haven't really been listening to that many mixtapes this month but after I heard this I knew it would have to be the Mixtape of May. T.I. is going to Jail for a while but when he gets back I'm sure he'll be better than ever. Screw all you haters saying he's a snitch, I don't buy into that bullshit, I just keep my ears open for that dope music. T.I. is probably in my Top 10 and he's certainly a legend in the makings. Joints to check for are "At It All Night" which samples Vanessa Carlton's song, "A Thousand Miles." The "On Top of the World" remix with Kanye is also really dope. The album closes with another dope song "All G." All and All this mixtape is very good. The DJ does not ruin it like the Buck and Jeezy tapes that recently came out.
