Ya Boy - The Fix 2 (Mixtape)

And here it is! That boy Ya Boy! The fix just was not enough.. So Ya Boy had to come with The Fix 2. This is a crazy tape. Love his style and rhymes, never disappoints. His last mixtape was not his greatest, I liked it but not as much as I do this one! With YB getting signed now by Akon with Konvict, we should finally get a real album from him pretty soon. But till then download this and Enjoy!

Killer Mike - Still My Ni**a (f/ Luda & Game)

Now this is a hot track. Luda and Game work real well together too, love to see them on a track together. Maybe another collabo on R.E.D? Killer Mike doing his thing and Luda killin the feature as usual. Game never disappoints. R.E.D is one of those albums i'm really excited for. Game on a Dre beat. Ugh, has classic written all over it.

Stat Quo – Success Behind The Scenes (Video)

Behind The Scenes look at Stat Quo's new single for Statlanta. Which drops May 4th. Definitely gonna be an album i'm copping. I (and I know alot more people) have been waiting on this to drop for a long time. I just hope its still full of all the original tracks and production. Either way its still gonna be dope.

Underground Realroad: Slave to the Game

Underground Realroad is a dope hip hop group consisting of Drex (producer) and Bricc (rapper) straight out of Montreal City. I had a chance to see them perform live opening for Masta Ace & Edo G and these dudes ripped the stage up. Check out their single "Slave 2 Da Game" on their debut album: Slave to the Game. Do not sleep.

Lloyd Banks Talks With MTV

Mr. P.L.K. sits down with MTV again to talk about 'Beamer, Benz, Or Bentley' and how he is going to rap is ass off this year and BBB is one of many more records to come. Second hit single coming soon, with someone you would probably never guess Bank$ would ever work with. I for one cant wait!

Tity Boi - Angels Freestyle

Add another name to the list of MC's whore ripped this track. Tity Boy definitely came correct. So now we got: Lupe, Ross, Chamillionaire and Tity Boi. I might be forgetting someone so let me know in the comments.

Rick Ross - Mafia Music 2 (feat. Chrisette Michelle)

Rick Ross, our favorite Big Fat Liar, is back with his new single off Teflon Don. It features Chrisette Michelle, who is looking pretty fine in this vid if I might add. This is definitely an epic movie type video so check it out. Apparently the album will also be packaged with a movie la Before I Self Destruct. Teflon Don hits stores this summer. I'm sure its going to be just as good as Deeper than Rap, if not better.

Rick Ross - Mafia Music 2 (feat. Chrisette Michelle)

Dose - Where Dey Do Dat At?

It's about time someone made a song with this phrase in it. People were constantly saying it on this Ustream I was in a couple of weeks ago. I've never heard of this Dose dude but he's pretty dope and got co-signs from Ross and Fab. I can definitely see this song killing the clubs and the radio. By the way I'm from ATL, Where Dey Do Dat At?

Dose – Where Dey Do That At?! f. Fabolous & Rick Ross

J Early - Hip Hop Revolution 3: War of 2012

J Early is an artist I discovered while hosting some of the Wordap Radio's in the past few years. I had a lot of people submit stuff to play, but J Early sent me the hottest shit. We recently chatted over AIM and decided we'd co-promote this project together. I told him "I got your next mixtape, we're gonna go heavy on the promo." And he told me "Na you got the mixtape I'm fixing to drop in the next few weeks cause its the hottest yet." J Early is one of the hottest new artists out of Atlanta. If you don't know who he is, you will after hearing this tape. Hip Hop Revolution 3: War of 2012 is finally here!

Music Video Weekly #81

I've been listening to a ton of Common lately and it's mainly been his older stuff because I had been sleeping on that for a while. I never saw why people liked Resurrection so much until I really sat down and listened to it. It's a perfect album with perfect production and real lyrics. Here is one of the most acclaimed joints from that album.

Common - I Used to Love H.E.R.

Joell Ortiz - Nissan, Honda, Chevy (Freestyle)

Joell decided to attack the Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana hit single "Beamer Benz Or Bently". Ortiz stay killing em. Has not been one freestyle I have not liked from him yet. Free Agent coming soon!

Charles Hamilton - Charles Discharged

Here's a funny video ItsTheReal put together for Charles. In the vid Hamilton talks about his various losses (or L's) in the past year. He also talks about why he should be thrown in the XXL Freshmen 10 once again. I think he's on to something at the end when he mentions Wacka Flocka Flame.

Charles Hamilton - Charles Discharged

Tom Gist - Knives

Dipset Affiliate Tom Gist is back with another video. This time its an ode to the ghetto streets. The visuals and song are really dope. Freeway’s Tour of Philadelphia (Video)

Freeway gives us a tour of some of his favorite places to go in Philadelphia. Cool vid, even shows us where he gets Eminem's little hiding place cut and trimmed. Freeway's new album with Jake One "The Stimulus Package" in stores now! So go cop that, its an amazing album with amazing production. Philly!

Ludacris - My Chick Bad (feat. Nicki Minaj)

Here is Luda's new video off Battle of the Sexes which drops March 9th. I gotta be honest here, I'm not really feeling the video. Luda was known for having the CRAZIEST videos in the game and not they're really just subpar. The video for "How Low" was way better than this though even that borrowed from his previous video for"Stand Up." Hopefully the third single will have a better video.

Ludacris - My Chick Bad (feat. Nicki Minaj)

Proof - Time A Tell (Documentary)

Maaan.. If yall aint know Proof (Of D-12) was to write and record 18 songs in 24 hours back in 2006 before he got shot. And this vid is amazing. Proof was/is one of my favorite rappers from D-12. And I really, REALLY want this album. I have a handful of tracks from this album, and they are amazing. The whole thing just has to be incredible. Maybe some day we will get to here this wonderful project Proof has made. R.I.P Big PROOF!

HipHopBabie's Favorite Albums of 2009

2009 turned out to be a great year for hip hop. With so many great releases, I had difficulty choosing my top 10. Let's hope 2010 brings that raw shit.

1. Fashawn - Boy Meets World
  • Even though a lot of classic & legendary emcees came back with albums in 2009, I was captivated by rookie Fashawn's straightforward rhymes and intimate stories. With Exile on production, this album proved that 21 year old Fashawn isn't just another new kid.
2. Raekwon - Only Built for Cuban Linx 2
  • More than a decade after the original, Rae released the sequel in hopes to gain as much success. Although it didn't prove to match up to Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Raekwon showed us that he can still release dope music. I played this album daily for months.
3. ThunderCats - The Eye of Thundera
  • Mighty Jukebox, an independent duo consisting of emcee S. Creezy and producer Fonetik Simbol, released this side project for free here. A great album with fresh beats, a versatile emcee, and a great adaptation of Marvel Comic's ThunderCats.
4. CunninLynguists - A Strange Journey Vol. 1
  • Kno never fails with his god-like (no dick-riding) beats. This concept album/mixtape proved that this trio never cease to amaze. Vol. 2 was just as good but Vol. 1 showed a little more originality and less remixed tracks.
5. Ghostface Killah - Ghostdini - The Wizard of Poetry
  • This pick is a little different for me. It wasn't really a favorite of mine until recently. Ghostface sounds perfect on the RnB tracks. Apart from the Ron Browz song, there wasn't a wack track.
Honorable Mentions:
  • K'Naan - Troubador
  • Tanya Morgan - Brooklynati
  • Diamond District - In The Ruff
  • Kid Cudi - Man on the Moon: The End of Day
  • Mos Def - The Estatic
  • DOOM - Born Like This

Bone Thugs N Harmony - Rebirth

The Bone Thugs are finally back with every member in tact and their fixing to drop a monumental album. I'm extremely excited for this. I didn't get into them until their Greatest Hits album came out but ever since then I've been a fan. I even liked that Thug Stories album which is hated by many. Uni5: The Worlds Enemy is slated to drop April 20th. I know i'll definitely be copping it.

Bone Thugs - Rebirth

Slim Thug (Feat. Ludacris, Dre Day, & Kez) -I Rep

Slim Thugga Mu-F#$*a!! Dude takes too long to drop a damn album. Boss Of All Bosses, classic. And peep his latest mixtape full of new shit, here.. thats real dope too. Oh, and is it just me or does Luda KILL every guest appearance? lol ..Enjoy!

Throwback Wednesday

Here is a throwback track from Obie Trice and Stat Quo. It's quite honestly one of the best collabo songs to ever come out of Shady Records and a shame it never made it to any albums. I'm pretty positive it was originally intended for Obie's second cd, Second Rounds on Me, but the CD took a long time to come out and this song leaked about a year prior to the album release. This song will also be on my R.I.P. Shady Records mixtape which features newer songs from Obie Trice, Stat Quo, and Bobby Creek. It should be out at the end of March, provided I can get the shoutouts from Bobby Creek and Stat Quo. Gyehhh! Obie supposedly has his 3rd album dropping this year, Bottoms Up. And Stat is finally be dropping Statlanta on Sha Money XL's new label.

Music Video Weekly #80

Beacause Freeway's new album, Stimulus Package, with Jake One just dropped, this week's video is from Freeway's second (and heavily slept on) album, Free At Last. A lot of people said Philadelphia Freeway was better but I liked this one better. In this track he mentioned his beef with producer Just Blaze (due to him not supplying him with beats), but just a few days ago they squashed it!

Freeway - It's Over (Prod. by Jake One)

Just Copped Volume 3

So I just received my copy of Stimulus Package by Freeway and JakeOne in the mail. I'm listening to it and so far the CD is crazy. Jake One is killing the beats and Freeway is rapping his ass off. Because I pre-ordered it I recieved a Sticker and Two Mixtapes with my purchase (Freelapse & The Beat Made Me Do It). The packaging is just as dope as the video so definitely go get it.

Kuniva - The Retribution

Kuniva recently just dropped a new mixtape and it's getting a lot of good reviews on message boards and shit. I just started listening to it and I think its pretty dope so far as well. Kuniva was one of the artists in D12 that really seemed to step it by D12 World. I remember hearing his verse on that "Cry Now Remix" by Obie Trice and spazzing at how dope it was. Any how if you like the mixtape you can purchase an autographed copy here. Download link and tracklist are after the jump.

Crooked I - Still A MC v.1 (Info)

Yo i'm back, I know its been a minute since I posted. Had to take a break from all this shit. Everybody needs a break right? But I wasnt just doing nothing on my days off. I have been putting together a new mixtape by Crooked I! Its called "Still A MC v.1". Again nothing EXCLUSIVE or anything like that (on this tape anyway Ha!) just (as of right now) 18 dope freestyles/unreleased & new tracks that have been leaked as of late. Real dope compilation of tracks anyway. So that will be releasing next Monday, February 22nd. I still might add a track or two and I have to adjust and fix the volume on every track. So be on the lookout for that next week, going to be crazy. Finished a sick ass cover for it too! And down below I decided to post Crooked's latest new freestyle leak. Spitin over Owl City's hit pop single "Fireflies" lol. Kills it. So untill my tape drops enjoy this Fireflies freestyle! Peace.

Bobby Creek - Dear Ghetto

Back 2 Briefcase II dropped a couple days ago and it was pretty hot. It's basically Bobby doing a bunch of freestyles over other peoples beats but putting his own spin on them. On March 4th he's dropping Back to Briefcase 2: The B Side which should also be hot. This is a video to one of those songs. It still amazes me that he has a lot doper material since departing from Shady. Any how also look out for the R.I.P. Shady Records mixtape that I'll be putting out real soon, that features Bobby, Stat, and Obie. The only thing holding me back now is the shoutouts from Bobby and Stat.

Music Video Weekly #79

Here is a video from Camp Lo's first album, Uptown Saturday Night. I just heard this CD a couple days ago thanks to a recommendation from HipHopBabie and I must say it's great. Check it out if you already haven't. I'm not really up on old school hip hop is much as I should be. Some of you new hip hop heads might recognize this beat from Nero's "Feeling Good" song off his Alive and Vibrant mixtape. Well this is where it originated from. Camp Lo is still together and recently put out their 5th album, Another Heist. Enjoy.

KiD CuDi - Back To The Moon: Volume One [NO DJ] (Mixtape)

So here it is! The new tape from Me, Myself & I. Back To The Moon is a bunch of leaked and unreleased music. There is nothing exclusive or brand new so don't get it twisted. This is just like all my other tapes I make, to organize Your iTunes and iPod/MP3 Player. So instead of having all these tracks just thrown all over the place, its all tagged and ready to go. This tape actually flows so dope together. This is a great tape if you don't have much Cudi shit and are just getting into dude. Its also great if you are a huge Cudi fan and already have all these, because again..all the tracks are tagged, volumes adjusted on every track. And i'm pretty sure this is all NO DJ (minus the radio freestyles).. Every track is as CDQ as you are gonna get too. So hate it or love but this is it and its free so don't bitch. Enjoy!!

Hot Rod - Roll Wit The Winners

Here's a new Hot Rod joint that he just dropped on ThisIs50. It's going to be on the NBA2K11 soundtrack. Looks like Hot Rod stays making a name for himself even after not being pushed the way he shoulda been. Dude is on his grind. I see the hustle. Definitely check this one out.

Lupe Fiasco - Lean (Unreleased)

When I first saw this leak I thought this was another new leak off his new album "Lasers" but come to find out this is a really old unreleased joint. Either way song is really dope. And I cant wait for his album to finally drop. I loved his last album "The Cool" and his first album, well duh. Epic. Enjoy!

Download link and info after the jump!

This leaked earlier and was trying to be passed off as new Lasers.

But Andrew set everybody straight by revealing that it was actually the first single for his (planned) Arista debut in 2001.

It’s one of six records Lu did with The Buchanans, of “What More Can I Say” fame. (And more recently, Amerie f. Fabolous.)

Being Creek just released "Back 2 Briefcase 2" I figured I would post the original "Back 2 Brifcase". This was released back in 2007 and is sort of a rare tape. I dont think alot of people even know about this. I didn't untill I started looking through all my old mixtapes on my computer and ran across this. I just must have downloaded it when it released and forgot about it? Well here it is! Grouprip and all! Enjoy!

Nas - Victory (feat. John Legend)

Here is a new Nas song featuring John Legend. It's probably the one of the only songs that will probably be worth listening to off the new DJ Khaled album, Victory. While his past albums have had atleast had 4 or 5 bangers this one doesn't seem to be shaping up as well to me. Anyhow, Victory is slated for stores this March 2nd.

Infamous Mobb - Capital Q

Here is an unreleased video by Infamous Mobb off their 2007 album, Reality Rap. I never got around to hearing that album but I probably should. Their first album, Special Edition, is heavily slept on. It's on par with some of Mobb Deep's earlier albums in my opinion. Apparently they have a new album coming out soon, and Big Twinz has been releasing a ton of solo shit lately. He recently put out The Infamous QB EP. Infamous Mobb also recently put out a mixtape called 2010: Year of the Dragon which can be downloaded here.

JEarly - Hard (feat. Heat)

Here is a new song promoting J.Early's upcoming mixtape, Hip Hop Revolution 3: War of 2012. I had a talk with dude the other night and this is gonna be one of those Wordap Exclusives. I'm gonna co-sign this tape heavily cause this dude has bars for days. I'm trying to get a cover and a single done through mutual friends but when that's done we'll release it.

Nas & D. Marley - Strong Will Continue (Live)

Here is a live concert performance at the Haiti benefit the other night. Nas and Damian Marley performed their new song "Strong Will Continue," off their upcoming album, Distant Travels. I really hope this comes out this year like its being planned too. Shoutouts to RapRadar for the video. Donate to Haiti if you haven't. Trust me it will make you feel good.

Brotha Lynch Hung - Meat

Here is the first music video to a mini-movie Brotha Lynch Hung is putting together to promote his new album, Dinner & a Movie. The album drops 3/23/10 so be sure to cop it. By then there will hopefully be at least 3 parts to this mini-movie. This video is really cool, because It's not your typical BLH. He talks about being poor as opposed to eating babies and the crazy shit he usually raps about. Also be on the lookout for an EAC of his rare EP, 24 Deep. We're gonna post that real soon.

Lloyd Banks - Beamer, Benz, or Bently (feat. Juelz Santana)

Check out this new Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana song. They were talking about this for quite sometime and I have to say it came out wayyy hotter than I imagined. This is most definitely single worthy. Banks needs to shoot a video for this and put together a CD to release pronto! Still waiting on that Juelz Regan Era mixtape. Hopefully it actually drops on Valentines Day like its supposed to.

But yeah, go order Major Pain now! Its worth the 12 bucks. So enough with the talkin, lets get into one of my favorite joints off the album. Ya'll know my naaame... Knuckles Hamilton!

I know most of y'all have already seen this around the net but here's our official post about it. On August 16th of last year we dropped R.E.D. Files and to our avail it was a HUGE success. It just so happened to be one of the hottest Game mixtapes out in a minute. People must have been feinding for some Game tracks because it got over 23,000 listens on DatPiff and even started being sold for Retail in the UK. This sequel has been a success of sorts as well. Since it was leaked this past Tuesday, its recieved 3,000+ listens on DatPiff and over 1,000 downloads between the various links we put out. Big shoutouts to ThankMeLater for putting out the project. When I asked him about the tape he said "I just wanted to put out a successful sequel to the original tape, with all the dope Game tracks that have been leaking recently." If you haven't downloaded this tape now be sure to check it out. Hit the jump for the tracklist.

DJ Whoo Kid Interviews Hot Rod

Whoo Kid is one of the funniest interviewers out, and when you add Hot Rod to the mix theres sure to be even more comedy. Check out this new interview where he talks about Touring Overseas, Tela Tequila, and his International Anthem, "I Like to F*ck."

Juelz Santana - I Wanna Rock

Here is Juelz music video for his "I Wanna Rock" freestyle. It seems like just about every rapper has done a freestyle to this song but it looks like Juelz is the first to go ahead and make a video to go a long with it. His new mixtape The Regan Era is supposed to come out on February 14th (Valentines Day for you lovers) but I wouldn't hold him to it seeing how it's been constantly getting pushed back since 08. His album Born to Win, Built to Lose Born to Lose, Built to Win is also "coming out" this year. BTW Am I the only one who constantly mixes up his album title?

Music Video Weekly #78

I can't believe I forgot to post the Music Video Weekly yesterday. I guess I was so busy putting a mixtape together with TML and watching Lost. Any how this weeks music video is from Ja Rule's 6th album, R.U.L.E. At the time this joint came out I wasn't really a Ja fan (due to me being a huge 50 stan) but I couldn't deny the hotness of this song. This was definitely one of those Hip Hop city anthems. There was a sequel to this song on DJ Khaled's We The Best album that was just as good as the first but it was never made a single.

Ja Rule - New York (feat. Fat Joe & Jadakiss)

February: J.Dilla Month

If you didn't know, J.Dilla is regarded as one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time. Born on February 7th, 1974, Jay Dee amazed us with his out-of-this-world beats and production. In addition to being a part of Slum Village, Jay played a key role in critically acclaimed albums by artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, Common to name a few. Black Milk is also highly influenced by J.Dilla's legacy. On February 10th, 2006, at the age of 32, James Yancey passed away from a blood disease. Since then, J.Dilla's life has been widely celebrated and commemorated by the hip hop community. This month, events all around the world are taking place in memory as February is named J.Dilla month. Celebrate Jay Dee's life this month (or every other month) by playing a track a day or bumping Donuts all day long!

Drop The World/Forever (Live @ Grammys)

Last night Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Drake tour up the Grammy's with the hottest performance of the night. American TV ruined it by censoring over the censors that were already set in place. Other than the idiots who were doing the censoring, this was a really hot performance. Here is another countries version without the over-excessive censoring. Tomorrow while your at the store picking up Relapse Refill which features "Forever," make sure you also pick up Weezy's new record, Rebirth, which features "Drop the World."
