Mixtape Monthly: July 2009

Ok the mixtape of July is J.R. Writer - Cinecrack 1.5. This is a really dope mixtape. Its better than his album, Cinecrack, which was pretty dope to say the least. It was supposed to come out at the end of June but never did. It finally leaked the third week of July. My favorite tracks are: "I'm From Harlem Baby," "Who Could F*ck With Me," "We Like Cars," "Me and My Eagle," and "Pure Crack." He really went in on this tape. Look out for Cinecrack 2.Overdrive coming soon.

Ja Rule - The Mirror

This is honestly one of the hottest albums to come out in a while. Ja Rule is definitely back on his A-Game on this album. Don't sleep on this. If you ever liked Ja Rule, you will like this album. Shoot I wasn't even a big fan before listening to this album. The album leaked early last year but it wasn't complete. It was missing like 4 tracks and 3 skits. This is the album in its entirety released by Ja himself. Quality is 192kbps.

Single of the Week # 47

The single of the week is from one of the best albums (other than Loso's Way) to come out this week. The cd is Blood Money, the artists are Lord Infamous, T-Rock, & II Tone. If your a fan of Three 6 Mafia, you'll love this cd. It has two past members and the whole cd goes hard. Order it here.

2PAC Evolution: The Definitive Collection

My friend over at DeathRowTapes posted a 12 Disc collection of Unreleased and Original Tupac tracks. Its definitely worth checking out. I've been blasting this through my speakers for a few days now. Don't sleep on this upload! I'm sure the people who wanted $299 will be furious soon.

Eminem - Warning (Mariah Carey Diss)

Eminem finally responds to Mariah Carey's track "Obsessed" on one of his best tracks of the year! Seriously this is one of the dopest Eminem tracks in a while. Its even doper than a lot of songs on Relapse. Eminem spares nothing in this tell all diss. Crazy ass shit! I kinda wish Eminem woulda thrown some shots at Gucci Mane who was on the "Obsessed [Remix]," but oh well we got a great diss track.

Jay-Z & Eminem - Renegade [High Quality]

Previously I posted a clip of Eminem and Jay-Z performing Renegade at a DJ Hero Showcase. It was pretty decent quality but here is the full HD version filmed by Activision. Because its filmed by another person there are many different shots. Enjoy!

Ya Boy - F*ck Bitches, Get Money

Here is the new Ya Boy music video for his new mixtape, Mohawks and Heavy Metal. It's a pretty dope mixtape, I've only heard it once, but I could definitely see some of the tracks growing on me. I never really was a big Ya Boy fan until I heard Chapter 1: The Rise. Kush 2009 made me an even bigger fan. Download Mohawks and Heavy Metal here.

Ya Boy - F*ck Bitches, Get Money

Music Video Weekly #51

Here is the 51st music video weekly. It's been a long ass time since we started this. I've been providing you with classic music videos once a week for almost over a year. Today our video is off of Jadakiss' second album, The Kiss of Death. This was a really decent album, it definitely had some bangers ("Gettin It In," "Hot Sauce to Go," and "Times up.") Not to mention EMINEM of all people was featured on "Welcome to D-Block." Anyways we can't forget the huge break through single for this album. Jadakiss' biggest solo single to date. Here's is the music video for it.

Jadakiss - Why (Feat. Anthony Hamilton)

Fabolous - Everything, Everyday, Everywhere

Here is the new Fabolous video off his album Loso's Way, in stores Today! This is definitely my favorite song off the album. As soon as I saw that footage of them recording it in the studio on youtube, I knew it would be a hot song. Ryan Leslie is a beast at production, and his last album is most definitely one of the best RNB albums to come out this year. Keri Hilson is lookin fine as ever in this video.

Fabolous - Everything, Everyday, Everywhere (feat. Ryan Leslie & Keri Hilson)

KiD CuDi - Make Her Say (Video)

A bit late on posting this video, I know but waking up to MTV Jams on while this video was airing 3 days in a row made the video and song grow on me. The video is awesome and the song is cool too. They all 3 kill it but Common has the best verse.

Hot Rod - Always Strapped Freestyle

Here is a new freestyle off Hot Rod's upcoming mixtape, .357 SWAGNUM, which drops August 4th. The tape is Hosted by DJ September 7th and has features from the likes of: Cashis, Prodigy, Lloyd Banks, Maino, Jay Rock, Spider Loc, Cinque, Jigg, Willy Northpole, and S. Sinatra. It sounds pretty dope. I can't wait! It's been a long ass time since he's dropped a mixtape.

DJ Paul - I'm Drunk [Remix] (feat. Lil Wyte & Lord Infamous)

Here is a really dope itunes bonus track for DJ Paul's new album, Scale-A-Ton. It features Lil Wyte and Lord Infamous. This album was pretty decent, especially since there were a ton of Lord Infamous and DJ Paul collabos. The only thing I felt this album was missing was a Juicy J and Lil Wyte verse. Well here goes that Wyte verse! Speaking of Lil Wyte, his album Bad Influence is dropping August 28th.

Hell Rell - Ok, Your Dead

Let's face it, Streets Wanna Know is a classic mixtape. Ruga has kinda been hit or miss lately to me but he still puts out that fire every once in a while. Here is his new Street Video to a freestyle he did off of 50 Cent's "OK, Alright" song. I always loved when he spit over 50 beats.

P.S. Speaking of Dipset, download J.R. Writer's new mixtape, Cinecrack 1.5, here.

Newz - Still Murda (feat. Ja Rule)

Here is a new music video from Newz featuring Ja Rule! I wasn't really a Ja Rule fan until recently to be honest. I got in to rap at the height of the 50 Cent beef, and lets be honest 50 killed him. The first single I appreciated of his was Clap Back. I never really paid him too much attention save his dope singles, until I heard his unreleased album, The Mirror. That album woulda been a classic had it been released. I might post it here someday, seeing how he's basically scrapped all that material for a new album. Enjoy this video though, cause Ja and Newz definitely spazz!

Newz - Still Murda (feat. Ja Rule)

50 Cent - Funny How Time Flies

Here is a new music video off of 50 Cent's mixtape, Forever King. I've only heard it a couple of times, but I think it might be better than War Angel. I definitely think this is better than its predecessor, Sincerely Yours.

50 Cent - Funny How Time Flies

Twista - Yo Body (feat. Do or Die & Johnny P)

Here is the new music video from Twista's album, Category F5. It's really dope to see Twista and Do Or Die working together again. Their flows go together very well. I never expected them to make a video for this song but I'm glad they did. Twista's new album isn't really that bad. I hadn't listened to one of his albums since Kamikaze (A Classic in my eyes) due to everyone saying none of them lived up to it.

Twista - Yo Body (feat. Do or Die & Johnny P)

I'm Back

So I was gone for a week and I'd like to thank both my contributers for holding down the blog this past week. They did a great job! It's good to know I can take a vacation and come back and still see the blog poppin. Anyways There are a bunch of dope Music Video's that recently leaked so look for those on here.

Music Video Weekly #49

Five years ago around this time Young Buck's first album, Straight Outta Cashville, leaked a month before it was due out. The retail version would only have one different track on it, which was a different version of "Stomp." I remember having my friend burn me this album and listening to it on the way to our timeshare in Helen, Ga. Off of the first listen I loved it. G-unit was on top of the world at this time. 50 Cent had blown up, the G-unit group album sold really well, and Lloyd Banks was already a multi-platinum selling artist. As soon as this single came out I looked forward to Buck's album. He had all my favorite verses on Beg For Mercy. Years later when G-unit's second album came out after the much publicized Young Buck beef, the few tracks that featured Young Buck on the album still stood out as my favorites.

Young Buck - Let Me In (feat. 50 Cent)

Flo Rida: Double Feature

Here are 2 new videos from Flo Rida's album R.O.O.T.S. in stores now. This album was definitely slept on. I still don't like it as much as his first but there are a lot of great songs on this album. It's certainly a lot better than Ace Hood's sophomore effort.

Flo Rida - Jump (feat. Nelly Furtado)

As soon as I saw this song on the tracklist, I knew it would be big. I mean come on, Nelly Furtado and Flo Rida on the same track? That's huge! I've heard it on the radio a couple of times and I really think it will catch on. This song is also the official single for the new Disney Movie, G-Force.

Flo Rida - Available (feat. Akon)

While this isn't the best Akon collabo as of late, this is certainly a solid single. This is probably one of my least favorite songs on the album though. They should've picked "Never" or "Rewind" instead if you ask me.

Maino - A Million Bucks [Music Video]

Here is the music video for Maino's new single, "A Million Bucks" , off his debut album, If Tomorrow Ever Comes. It features Swizz Beatz. Maino's new album is actually really decent. The whole album plays out like a movie and the skits on the cd are pretty good. Not too many cds have good skits these days.

Slaughterhouse - The One [Music Video]

Here is the new Slaugherhouse video for their song The One, off their self titled upcoming album that drops August 11th. Pretty dope video. Makes the song somewhat better. Please support Slaughterhouse when they drop their album because they represent real hip hop.

Ma$e - Get It (Feat. Cam'Ron & Da Kid Rossy)

Here is a track that just leaked today that can't be gone with out a post. I don't like it as much as the single of the week but this song is definitely fire. CAM'RON and MA$E on a track together again! 2009 Time!! Shit is crazy! Yes you heard it, a BRAND NEW Cam'ron and Ma$e Track!!

Single of the Week #44

This week's single is a new song Bishop Lamont dropped featuring Xzibit. It's REALLY hot. I haven't really been paying too much attention to dude since I heard rumors about him getting dropped from Aftermath but this song is really good. I really hope he's still signed and comes out after Detox (if it ever comes out).

Music Video Weekly #48

Today's music video is from the UTP Playaz first album, The Beginning of the End. I remember loving this song so much. I also loved the bonus song at the end of the video. Juvenile, Wacko, and Skip all came correct on this song. I think its about time to listen to this cd as well as Juve the Great. Can't believe I haven't heard either of those albums as much as I love the singles from them.

UTP - Noila Clap/What's Up

Bonus Video: UTP - Noila Clap [H-Town Remix] (feat. Slim Thug & Z-Ro)

I didn't even knew this video existed until today. I do remember their being a long remix to the song, that never could top the original.

Fabolous - A Toast to the Good Life (Music Video)

Here is the 3rd video off of Fabolous' upcoming album, Loso's Way in stores July 28th. This is a really cool video. It plays out like a movie. The "It's My Time" video kinda played out like a trailer so I guess you could say this is the first part of the movie. A movie is supposed to be released with the cd. I'm not sure If it's going to be music videos that tell a story or an actual movie. If its an actual movie it will be interesting to see how good of an actor Fabolous is.

Artist to Watch: Novel

I don't know much about this dude at all other than he's an upcoming, Singer, Rapper, Songwriter, and Producer (thanks wiki). Anyways he's dropped some pretty good videos as of late. One just came out and the other one I've been seeing on MTVJams for a few months now. Look out for his album entitled Audiobiography coming later this year. He also has an EP on Amazon if you want to check that out.

Novel - So Much More (feat. Joell Ortiz & Papoose)

Novel doesn't rap on this song but he sings and I'm guessing he also produced it. It's a really good uplifting type of song. Joell kills his verse, literally. It's up there with his Slaughterhouse verses if you ask me. And to a somewhat surprise, Papoose does a really good job on this song too. He's gotten to the point where people say he over saturated himself and dropped so many mixtapes that he's washed up. Well this song should prove some of those haters wrong. Papoose can still make good raps. I think his best efforts are serious songs like this where he doesn't try to hard to make a dope punchline but just talks real shit.

Novel - I Am (feat. Ben Folds, Talib Kweli, and Spree Wilson)

Ok here is the video I've been seeing for a couple of months on MTVJams. I really like this song a lot. Ben Folds is on the piano and hook while Novel, Talib Kweli and Spree Wilson rap. Talib Kweli is perfect for this song. Novel drops some knowledge too. I don't know much about Spree Wilson but he is also dope on this. Dude has a very unique voice.

Single of the Week #43

Ok here is the single of the week. It's a new track from J.R. Writer featuring Tom Gist. It was cut off of his upcoming mixtape Cinecrack 1.5. He posted it on his twitter for his fans. I was really happy to hear Tom Gist on it. He is one of the newest Dipset members and he has a lot of potential. I mean he had the best song on Public Enemy No. 1 and that's hard to do, especially since it's a Cam'Ron mixtape. Order Cinecrack 1.5 here.

Eminem - Beautiful (Music Video)

Dope music videos have been coming out like crazy. First we had "D.O.A." then Ok Your Right", then last night "Best I Ever Had." Today Eminem's video for "Beautiful" premiered on yahoo music. It's a great video probably his best yet for Relapse. I can see this single getting really big. It's one of the most serious songs on the album and a lot of people can identify with it. Supposedly the next single is Stay Wide Awake. I'll definitely be looking foward to that as well.

Drake - Best I Ever Had (Video)

The video to the song that is dominating the internet, radio, streets, ipods, etc. is here..Finally!
I was a bit upset with the shitty BET perfomance by young money but Drizzy gets a pass since he tore his ACL. As far as the video goes, its beyond decent and its directed by Kanye West.

50 Cent - Ok, You're Right [Music Video]

The new 50 Cent video just dropped for Ok, You're Right, his 3rd single off his much anticipated album, Before I Self Destruct. This video much like his, video for "Get Up", does not disappoint. The director of turned the Phillips Carousel Commercial (a new 21:9 TV), and made it into a 50 Cent video. Really cool idea! This video is a must see!

50 Cent - Ok, You're Right

Bonus: 50 Cent - Get Up

The Game (feat. Chris Brown, Diddy, Mario Winans, & Boys II Men) - Better on the Other Side [Video]

Here is the video to that Michael Jackson Tribute Game made. The video is pretty decent. The more I listen to this song the more I like it. Game is spitting that real shit 100%. Chris Brown's voice has always been annoying to me but It seems to sound more mature in this song. Anyways the visuals make the song even better so its definitely worth a watch.
